The Western Iowa Journalism Foundation has selected the first three newsrooms to participate in its Newsroom Modernization Project: the Pocahontas Record-Democrat, Central Iowa Publishing, and The Stuart Herald.

The newsrooms will receive technology grants, training, and personalized coaching to strengthen their operations and better serve their communities. The project is made possible through the generosity of donors and partners who believe local news is an essential public good.
